DISCOVERY EVENTS

Discovery Events provide students with opportunities to see, hear, and touch real world experiences available in our Bulloch County businesses, industries, and post secondary institutions. Discovery Events are designed to create a home-grown workforce and to meet the needs of our community’s high skill, high wage, and high demand careers.

6th Grade: Ag-Grow Expo

6th Grade

Hosted by Bulloch County Parks and Recreation, this event helps to inform citizens with a day-long experience complete with educational booths, hands-on activities, and agricultural career exploration.

This event increases students’ awareness of the types and benefits of high school CTAE Clusters & Pathways and Fine Arts available. 8th graders visit the High Schools they'll be attending in 9th grade and explore the many CTAE and Fine Arts offerings available to them.

Sponsored by Ogeechee Technical College, this event increases students’ awareness of the various types of jobs and careers available within our community. 10th graders visit OTC and explore careers in fields such as: healthcare, public safety, manufacturing, and construction.

Area manufacturers open their doors and show visiting students the many career opportunities available within our own community. Students learn about the current skilled labor shortage, revise their understanding of manufacturing, and make early connections with potential employers.
